PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Trattoria Bel Paesse is a step back in time, keeping in mind that is a tavern- a place to relax, to enjoy and forget the cares of the day while enjoying good food. Lighting being an important aspect of the design is sparse and transitional, from low to high, creating micro atmospheres and affording privacy. Furnishing is simple but well fi tted to the ambience of a tavern- informal and trivial. The curved walls are the unifying structural elements as in the original colosseum. Extending the space and allowing its dimensions to serve function. As in the original structure the curve is part of its identity- a place to gather, a time to participate and as most structures it connects- fl oor to walls and walls to ceilings.
